BINS — Freelance

BINS is a Bank Indonesia system that I helped automate and migrate to new servers — taken on as a freelance engagement when a friend reached out for help. I was not part of the engineering team; I came in to solve a specific infrastructure challenge and deliver it end to end.

The Problem

A friend working on BINS, a system owned by Bank Indonesia, reached out for help. The servers needed to be migrated and the operations around them automated — work that the in-house engineering team did not have the capacity or focus to take on at the time. It was a high-stakes environment: a government-owned system where downtime and manual, error-prone server work carry real risk.

The Solution

I took on the challenge as a freelance engagement. I planned and executed the server migration, then built automation around the infrastructure so the day-to-day operations no longer depended on manual, repetitive steps. The work was delivered on a freelance basis for a friend, outside the official engineering team, and the system is owned by Bank Indonesia.
