# Developer Portal & Central Documentation

Client / Employer: PT Eigen Tri Mathema | Category: Platform Engineering | Year: 2025

Internal developer portal giving Eigen platform teams a single hub for services and docs.

Tags: Developer Portal, Documentation, Backstage

## Overview

An internal developer portal with central documentation deployed at Eigen, unifying the service catalog, infrastructure management, and technical docs into a single platform — eliminating context-switching and making IaC documentation effortless for every team.

## The Problem

Eigen's platform teams were juggling multiple tools: documentation in one place, infrastructure management in another, and a service catalog that was hard to keep current. This context-switching slowed teams down and made infrastructure-as-code documentation a chore.

## The Solution

A developer portal was deployed as the central hub to unify these concerns. It provides a service catalog, TechDocs integration for central documentation, a Kubernetes plugin for infrastructure visibility, CI/CD pipeline integration, and a Swagger API explorer. Single sign-on auth keeps access controlled, and a component dependency graph makes relationships between services visible.

## Key Outcomes

- **Single Hub:** Documentation, infrastructure, and service catalog unified in one platform.
- **Central Docs:** TechDocs integration makes infrastructure-as-code documentation effortless.
- **Service Catalog:** A living catalog of services with dependency graphs and API exploration.
- **Less Switching:** Eliminates context-switching for platform teams.
